Frances McDormand Reunites With Steve Buscemi & Joel Coen For 'Fargo's 25th Anniversary

Frances McDormand gets in the middle of a pic with Steve Buscemi and Joel Coen at the Fargo reunion during the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday (June 18) in New York City.

The two actors starred in the 1996 movie, that was directed by Joel alongside his brother, Ethan.

The three spoke at a panel about the movie, which inspired a series on FX that has been running for four seasons so far.

In a recent interview, Steve reminisced on the film, giving a lot of credit to Frances for the success.

“It’s the Coen Brothers, the writing is so good and of course Frances McDormand’s performance, she’s the real heart of the movie,” he shared. “That’s what I love about it. It has their dark sensibility and their dark humor, but then you have Frances’ character that counterbalances that. All of the performances, if I do say so myself, are top rate.”

Steve also shared that people still ask him about the wood chipper scene.

“It hasn’t happened lately, but it’s happened enough in the past,” Steve said. “Especially when people say that’s their favorite scene, and I say, ‘OK, I actually wasn’t in that scene, but OK, thank you.’ That was a prosthetic leg.”

Just a few months ago, Frances and Joel, who are married, were spotted on a rare date night out.
