Yogi asks people to not let the guard down against COVID

Gorakhpur, Jun 18 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said Corona might have weakened but not yet finished, hence precaution is the only way to protect ourselves.



"The country and the world have been suffering due to the global pandemic Corona. There has been extensive damage in many states and countries. The struggle to save life and livelihood under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in our country has yielded expected and positive results.

We have to keep in mind that Corona has definitely weakened, not ended. Caution and awareness is the biggest weapon in the fight against it," he said.



CM Yogi made these statement while interacting with media persons at the Gorakhnath Temple office on Friday.





He said that carelessness in the disease can be dangerous, so we have to be constantly vigilant.



"Caution and protection are very important. Keep following the mantra of two yards distance, mask is necessary. Corona is the worst pandemic in the last 100 years. It is being successfully fought against with a collective effort," the CM said .



The CM said that vaccination is the only shield to protect against corona. There are already two vaccines in the country. Some more vaccines will be available by next month. Everyone will have to join the campaign of trace, test and treat issued by the government. Under this, our monitoring committees are going door-to-door.



Chief Minister Yogi appealed that people do not run away from the test and must vaccinate themselves.



Expressing gratitude for the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the fight against Corona, the Chief Minister said that PM Modi set an example of public welfare in the whole country with poor welfare package, free ration and self-reliant package. Under his guidance, free food grains are being provided to 15 crore people in the state every month.





CM Yogi also gave detailed information about the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana started for the destitute children in the Corona tragedy. He said that the government would take up the responsibility of nurturing and educating the children who have lost their parents or earning guardian of the house due to Corona. The central and state governments have made many provisions for these children. For the upbringing of the affected children, under the Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojna, arrangement has been made to give Rs.4000 per month to the legal guardian till the child attains the age of 18 years. Along with this, a comprehensive action plan has been prepared for the education of these children through Child Protection Homes, Kasturba Girls Residential Schools and Atal Residential Schools.



In this sequence, along with free system of higher and technical education of children above 18 years, tablets will also be given to them. Along with this, Rs one lakh one thousand will be provided by the government if the destitute girl is eligible for marriage. Chief Minister Yogi said that two thousand rupees per month is already given by the government for the children living in child protection homes.



The Government of India too has arranged for the PM Cares Fund for the children orphaned by Corona, in which arrangements have been made to give Rs 10 lakh when the child turns 23. The CM said that all possible support will be provided to the children who have been destitute from Corona. For this, Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana has been started on a large scale in the entire state.



The Chief Minister informed that so far 174 children in Gorakhpur region have been identified to be benefited under Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana, who have lost their earning guardian. Of these, six are children who have lost both parents. The Chief Minister met five of these children on Friday morning. He said that the officials of the Child Development and Nutrition Department have been directed to provide the benefits of the government scheme to the children. CM Yogi said that the government has sympathy for all the destitute children and they will not be allowed to face any kind of trouble.
