The much-awaited Hyundai Alcazar SUV is finally going on sale in India today, and we'll be bringing you all the live updates from the launch event, here. Essentially the three-row version of the Hyundai Creta, the new Alcazar comes with several new and updated elements that help it differentiate itself as a completely new product. Based on what Hyundai has revealed, the SUV will get more than 10 best- or first-in-class features, and it will be offered in both 6- and 7-seater versions.

Unlike its rivals, the MG Hector Plus and Tata Safari, the Hyundai Alcazar is not only longer than its 5-seater sibling, but it also gets an extended 2760 mm wheelbase, which 150 mm longer than the Creta's wheelbase. Visually, it does borrow a lot of styling elements from the Creta, but the Alcazar also gets a new grille, revised bumpers, new alloy wheels, and a newly designed rear section with new LED taillights and a twin-tipped exhaust system.

The Hyundai Alcazar will be available with both petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre unit churning out 157 bhp and 191 Nm of torque. The oil burner, on the other hand, is a 1.5-litre unit that is capable of pushing out 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. Both engines will be offered with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
