BHOPAL: Now the Congress leaders have started demanding change in names of cities. They are demanding to change the name of Gwalior to ëRani Laxmibai Nagarí.

Earlier the BJP leaders were raising such demands, but now the Congress leaders are giving shock to their opponent.

The Congress partyís wing Vichar Vibhag has organised a seminar at PCC on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Rani Laxmibai.

While addressing the seminar, the state general secretary Chandra Prabash Shekhar raised the demand to change the name of Gwalior city to 'Rani Laxmibai Nagar'.

He said that Laxmibai had joined the freedom fighting movement in the year 1857, but because of few of the traitors the movement did not got the success.

He added that to honour sacrifice of Laxmibai, the Gwalior city should be named after her.

Former minister Sajjan Singh also joined the demand and asked that the Indore should be named as ëAhilyabai Holakar Nagarí.

The Guna Member of Parliament KP Yadav also supported the demand to change the name of Gwalior. While speaking to media, he stated that if the people of Gwalior are raising the demand it is welcomed.

Earlier, the BJP leaders have raised the demand to change the name of Hoshangabad as a Narmadapuram, the chief minister has changed the name and had issued the notification.
