TN govt allocates Rs 58.59 cr towards COVID incentive to cops

Chennai, June 18 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin
today announced allocation of Rs 58.59 crore to provide a
special incentive of Rs 5,000 to 1,17,184 police personnel
who were in the frontline of their duty during the COVID
pandemic.
An official release here said the fund allocation was made
in line with Mr Stalin's announcement on June three in this
regard.
Mr Stalin had announced that in recognition of the selfless
service being provided by the police personnel by risking
their lives during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic,
an incentive of Rs 5,000 will be given to police personnel
right from Grade-2 Constable to Inspectors.
Mr Stalin's incentive to cops comes in the backdrop of similar
assistance given to various sections, including journalists,
temple priests, healthcare workers and others.
