West Bengal board exam 2021: Evaluation criteria for class 10 and 12 released

NEW DELHI: West Bengal Board on Friday released the evaluation criteria for class 10 and 12 board exams 2021. Class 10 students will have their results based on their performance in class 9 finals and class 10 internal assessment.

The Board has decided to evaluate class 10 results in the 50:50 formula. The class 10 result will be based on the 50% of class 9 marks and 50% of class 10 internal assessment marks.

The class 12 result will be based on the students' performance in classes 10, 11, and 12. The Board is considering an evaluation formula of 40:60. The class 12 final result will be based on the 40% (best of four subjects in class 10) and 60% (Class 11 theory results + class 12 and practicals).

  • For Class 10: 50% of (Class 9 marks)+ (50% of Class 10 internal assessment marks).
  • For Class 12: 40% (Best of 4 subs in Class 10) + 60% (Class 11 theory results) + (Class 12 & practicals).

Earlier this month, West Bengal chief minister Mamta Banerjee cancelled the class 10 and 12 examinations due to the Covid-19 situation.


Meanwhile, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) submitted the assessment system for Class 12 students in the Supreme Court and said the results will be declared by July 31. Attorney general (AG) KK Venugopal placed the scheme for the CBSE which said the performance of students in Class 10, 11, and 12 examinations will be considered.
