Karnataka announces further relaxation of lockdown restrictions: Shops, hotels allowed to operate till 5pm
Karnataka on Saturday announced further relaxation of lockdown restrictions in 16 districts of the state including Bengaluru from June 21.
16 districts in Karnataka where curbs will be eased: Bengaluru Urban, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Mandya, Koppal, Chikkaballapura, Tumakuru, Kolar, Gadag, Raichur, Bagalkot, kalaburagi, Haveri, Ramanagara, Yadgir and Bidar.
Lockdown has been extended in Mysuru district.
“The new relaxations will apply to 16 districts that have less than 5% positivity,” chief minister BS Yediyurappa said.
Buses and metro services have been allowed to function at 50% capacity. Private offices can also operate at 50 per cent capacity in 16 districts that have a positivity rate below 5 per cent.

Covid positivity rate has not increased in Dakshina Kannada: Deputy commissioner
Deputy commissioner Dr KV Rajendra said here on Saturday that the Dakshina Kannada district reported more than 1,000 positive cases of Covid-19 on Friday only because of the increase in the number of tests conducted.
According to official sources, Karnataka govt may announce relaxations in 11 districts where lockdown measures have continued, while further relaxations in terms of movement of people and opening of businesses may be announced in the remaining 19 districts from June 21.
