LUCKNOW: The pilot test of UP’s vaccination policy began in four clusters in each of the 75
districts of the state on Thursday. The new policy, called the cluster approach, sub-divides each block in smaller units comprising several villages for focused and intensified activity to ensure that no
eligible person is missed. It was officially adopted on Monday. The
list of eligible people in each cluster is being drawn from the electoral list. Health teams will send voter slip-like chits to each household days before the vaccination camps are to be held.
The policy involves undertaking dedicated communication activities which began in selected blocks of the state on Thursday. Officials said that the dry run would take place for four days and the outcomes would be reviewed to eliminate glitches in the actual scenario when the drive starts in July. Meanwhile, an order issued by
ACS, health and family welfare,
Amit Mohan Prasad has been circulated in districts with specific instructions to earmark clusters and come up with the required lists including that of eligible persons, available health staff and so on.
