Nothing, a new hardware venture started by the now ex-OnePlus Co-Founder Carl Pei planned to announce its first product in June this year. But, unfortunately, Nothing has a change of plan and this is why it is bringing nothing this month. Pei took to Twitter to share the update on the same as the followers have been eagerly waiting for the first product Ear 1 to get unveiled.
Pei cites “unfinalized” as the main reason behind the change of plans. He reveals while Ear 1 is near the finish line, there are still “a few things left to finalize.” This is why the launch of the Ear 1 is now deferred. According to Pei, the first product from Nothing will now come out a bit later this summer. This means, if everything goes smooth, we will see Nothing Ear 1 launching at the end of Q3 or somewhere in September.
Pei didn’t exactly reveal what things are not finalized yet. Has the company spotted something while doing the last touch-ups? Or is it something related to under-the-hood improvement? Well whatever it is, OnePlus is working at finishing it off.
Nothing looks to have taken the best decision because it is better to delay things rather than launching an incomplete product. Pei’s former company OnePlus produced some great smartphones under his expertise so followers have some high hopes. Also, the name of the company has already gathered some great fanfare. So, all eyes are on Nothing now.
It is worth mentioning that the details on the Ear 1 are not known either. While the company has revealed the name of the first product, it hasn’t yet uncovered any details. The end of summer timeframe is still far from us, so it is possible that Nothing will begin to share more details on the earphones in the coming weeks so to keep the engagement going for its first product. The company has been throwing information in bits and pieces and keeping the hype alive is a must.
