Uttar Pradesh: Man, 65, tied to cot, bludgeoned to death in his house

MEERUT: A 65-year-old man sleeping in his house was allegedly tied to his cot and killed by unidentified assailants in the early hours on Thursday in Baghpat’s Singhawali Ahir area.
Police suspect that the victim, Elam, was repeatedly hit with a blunt object on his head, leading to his immediate death.
Sources said the other family members were present in the house when the attack took place but were probably sleeping. They discovered the murder in the morning and informed police, police said.
“The exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained,” said Anuj Mishra, circle officer (Baghpat).
