48 new cases recorded in Surat city

Surat: Continuing with the downward trend, Surat city on Thursday recorded 48 new Covid-19 cases and one death due to the infection. According to Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) officials, a 56-year-old woman from Uttaran in Katargam zone succumbed to the virus on Thursday.
With 12 Rander residents testing positive, the zone recorded the highest daily Covid-19 cases in the city followed by nine in Athwa zone.
SMC officials said that 93 Covid-19 patients were discharged from different hospitals of the city. As on Thursday, 98 Covid-19 patients were under treatment in different hospitals in the city.
On the vaccination front, 22,796 doses were administered on Thursday in Surat city. In Surat district, 18 new Covid-19 cases and one death were reported.
