Over the last few years, well known personalities in various parts of the world appear to have obtained a new found fascination for apartment complexes. From pop icons to leading businessmen - there are many who have now taken up residence in ultra-extravagant exclusive apartments, often with a dizzying price tag attached.
In today's day and age, the residents of Asia's most exclusive apartment buildings reads like a who's who list of the rich and famous. And while we're not entirely sure if this is an accomplishment per se, India too features on this list.
In December 2020, Daftary family, proprietors of Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited purchased two apartments in the 22-storey luxury residential building, Carmichael Residences. According to sources, they paid a whopping Rs.101 crore for the two apartments on Altamount-Carmichael Road. Earlier, in July 2020, Anurag Jain MD of Endurance Technologies had reportedly purchased two apartments in the same property for Rs 100 crore.
This area, in case you were wondering is often dubbed India's 'billionaire's row' thanks to its impressive array of ultra-luxurious residential skyscrapers. The plush residential skyscraper is spread over a land parcel covering over half an acre.
Asia's most exclusive apartment complexes now play host to K-pop stars, billionaires and more - with stunning views, concierge service, gyms , rooftop decks and view lounges, infinity pools, private libraries and more.
Take Seoul's award-winning Hannam The Hill complex for example. Home to several members of BTS, it is considered to be the country's most expensive apartment complex. According to reports, it has 600 units spread across 32 buildings with open space living and dining areas, huge marble-finished bathrooms, and gorgeous downtown views. Other amenities include a massive gym complex, multiple pools and even a golf range. Reportedly, BTS had shelled out 7.4 billion won in 2017.
Another noteworthy and exceedingly exclusive complex is Singapore's Wallich Residence. The tallest residential development in the city-state, it features 181 luxury homes including four penthouses and one 'super penthouse' dubbed 'bungalow in the sky'. According to reports billionaire James Dyson had reportedly purchased the latter for S$74 million in 2019.
