India reports 67,208 new cases, 2,330 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi, June 17: India reported 67,208 new coronavirus cases and 2,330 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the country's overall caseload rose to 2.97 crore, while the death toll surged to 3.81 lakh. The number of active cases dropped to 8.26 lakh, the lowest in 71 days.

On Wednesday, active cases drop below 9 lakh after 70 days. The daily positivity also stayed below five percent.

Overall the Covid-19 situation is improving in India and many states/UTs have already begun the process of unlocking. National Capital Delhi, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Haryana are among states/UT that have lifted lockdown curbs, restrictions and allowed more activities in order to revive the economy.
