CBSE and AICTE have signed an MoU to jointly launch the Innovation Ambassador Programme which would train teachers in five modules.

National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 emphasizes on nurturing young students for problem-solving and critical thinking at the school level. Teachers, therefore, shall have to become mentors and guide these young students to pursue innovation and entrepreneurship.

Under this, teachers from CBSE-affiliated schools will be trained on five modules – design thinking and innovation, idea generation and ideal hand-holding, intellectual property rights (IPRs), product/prototype development, finance, sales and HR.

To strengthen the mentoring capacity of teachers, CBSE has collaborated with the Innovation Cell, AICTE, Ministry of Education, for the 'Innovation Ambassador Programme' in which the teachers from affiliated schools shall be trained on the following five modules:
  1. Design Thinking and Innovation
  2. Idea generation and Ideal hand-holding
  3. Intellectual Property Rights
  4. Product / Prototype development
  5. Finance, Sales and HR
Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, AICTE said it can help strengthen the mentoring capacity for nurturing the ideas of students. He said it will systematically foster the culture of innovation in school education across the country.
