Former U.S. President Obama says ruling shows healthcare law 'here to stay'
WASHINGTON, June 17 (Reuters) - Former President Barack Obama said the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on Thursday shows that the 2010 Affordable Care Act, his signature health care law that is known as Obamcare, "is here to stay," and urged Americans to sign up for coverage.
"The principle of universal coverage has been established," Obama said in a statement. "We need to build on the Affordable Care Act and continue to strengthen and expand it." (Reporting by Susan Heavey; Editing by Doina Chiacu)
