The 44-year-old rapper made the first move on the 35-year-old Russian model - full name Irina Valeryevna Shaykhlislamova - and really likes the way she handles herself according to a Thursday report from Us Weekly.

A source noted to the publication that Kanye was 'the first to reach out' as they began their romance which saw them take an intimate trip to Provence, France earlier this month as seen in DailyMail.com exclusive photos.

The insider explained: 'They’ve been dating for a couple months now, from talking to meeting and now taking a trip for his birthday. Kanye loves that Irina is very easygoing and a laid-back person to be with.' 

As Kanye has been involved in the fashion industry for quite sometime with his Adidas and GAP partnerships and Yeezy high-end range and Irina has been on runways for Versace, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, and Miu Miu, the two definitely have similar passions.

The source said: 'Kanye also loves that Irina is an established and respected model in the fashion community. He loves that she carries clout with the fashion world. He thinks they could be a very chic power couple.'

Meanwhile it has been claimed that Kanye's estranged wife Kim Kardashian has met Irina 'briefly several times' according to a source for Us Weekly on Thursday.

One mutual friend the trio share is Burberry chief creative officer Riccardo Tisci who has had a longtime friendship with former couple Kanye and Kim as Irina has previously walked the runway for him and can often be seen wearing his designs. 

Kim has not thrown herself in the dating pool just yet as the source said she 'isn't dating anyone new yet' but has 'completely moved on from Kanye.' 

There have been several different accounts regarding Kanye's hot new romance with Irina.

A TMZ report last week claimed the pair have been seeing each other since as early as March, and noted how she was seen his custom DMX memorial shirt before it was released to the public. 

Meanwhile, a source claimed to UsWeekly last Wednesday: 'Kim knew that Kanye and Irina were dating,' adding that the duo have been 'been quietly seeing each other for a couple of months.'

Another link between the pair occurred as recent as last month, with Irina having sported a DMX shirt designed by Kanye in collaboration with Balenciaga. 

During their vacation, Kanye could be seen taking snaps of Irina, suggesting that he seems to be enamored with the runway beauty.

France has always been a favored destination for the Yeezy star, who has spent extensive time there with his estranged wife Kim - having whisked her off to Paris when they first began dating in 2012.

Kim famously sat front row at Kanye's runaway show during Paris Fashion Week in March 2012, which amplified the huge buzz surrounding their relationship at the time.

It would seem that Kanye is already extremely fond of Irina, having chosen to spend his special day with the gorgeous model in a place that he holds so close to his heart.

Famously, the runway model was previously involved with actor Bradley Cooper, whom she shares four-year-old daughter Lea De Seine with.
