Call special session of legislature, says Munde

Aurangabad, Jun 16 (UNI) Non-Political OBC /SC /ST Social Front on Wednesday demanded a special session of the state legislature assembly should convened to discuss the overall issues of OBCs.
Addressing a press conference here on today former MLA Dr. Narayan Munde and former MLA Bhau Thorat of front leaders stated that various questions of OBCs are pending. The recommendations of the Mandal Commission do not seem to be being implemented effectively. Now, as per the Supreme Court decision, the political reservation of OBCs has come to an end.
They said that , the questions of OBCs are revolving around caste wise census. And so it was emphasized that the government should conduct such a census immediately.
Elections of any other local bodies in the state, including Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, should not be held without restoring the political reservation of OBCs,they demanded .
The possibility of holding elections for Aurangabad Municipal Corporation in the next six months cannot be ruled out.
We will fight against any injustice done to OBCs,they added.
Their rest of the demands are that the State Government has constituted a Backward Classes Commission as per the decision of the Supreme Court. The reservation should be implemented and the report should be submitted within the stipulated time frame of the commission.
They also announced that rallies would be organized in every district to create awareness among the OBCs and agitations would be organized from time to time.
On this occasion Principal G H Rathore, former mayor Bapu Ghadmode,Ram Budwant among several others were present .
