MANGALURU: The
Mangaluru police arrested a 42-year-old man on Tuesday on charges of raping his two daughters.
According to the police, a pre-university student alleged that she was being sexually exploited by her father since May 12, 2018.
The minor girl told the police that in case she refused to listen to her father, he would assault her and threaten her by using foul language.
At 8am on June 2, the girl’s mother sustained an injury in her leg after her father threw a sewing machine at her and abused her for adding less spices to a dish.
Upset by this, the girl’s mother left home along with her two daughters and son.
At her grandmother’s house, they narrated the ordeal, that what they were going through for the past two years.
The elder daughter told her uncle that her father had been raping her too since April 25, 2019.
Further, he would also assault them with rods over trivial issues. He has also assaulted their mother on several occasions. He had even threatened to kill his wife and daughters, the girl alleged.
City police commissioner N Shashikumar said two cases have been booked against the accused. He has also been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) for raping his minor daughter.
