As part of its first round of fund-raising, Della Leaders Club aims to raise Rs. 50cr in three months
Mistry told a media meet that so far, around 15 crore has been invested in DLC, and that a found of round of investment to raise around 7mn dollars or INR 50 cr, has been announced. “Four investors are already interested — from Bangalore, Mumbai, and overseas,” Mistry said, adding, “Mr Ashit Kampani is leading this. We look at around 3 months in which to close it, before we start our road shows in New York, London, Hong Kong, Dubai and other major cities.”
Mistry said he is “very hopeful that this is a unicorn in the making. Whatever the value or valuation, I never exit a concept, I never leave a dream unfulfilled,” he said, adding, “I am here to stay (with DLC) and see this dream making a great social impact.”
The For-Profit, Social Impact DLC is headquartered in Delaware, USA with subsidiary companies in India, UK, UAE, HK, Singapore and Thailand. DLC is launching in 7 countries simultaneously in Phase 1. DLC has identified 26 business and lifestyle Knowledge Streams for the modern leader, spanning professional and personal growth categories.
Why DLC?
The purpose of the technology platform is to give ready-to-apply business knowledge across 26 committees comprising 13 business committees and 13 lifestyle committees covering the latest trends to keep business leaders ahead of the curve.
The DLC concept has already gone viral, which is why it has successfully been able to onboard men and women of eminence coming from IVY leagues and their alumni associations to 9 unicorn start-up founders, EO, YPO members, Forbes listers, NYC Best Sellers, Grammy Award Winners, Top Government Attorneys and UN affiliates.
While DLC will have many microsites for multiple service providers, there will be no advertising on the platform. We are going to make sure that we proceed with unflinching brand trust: Jimmy Mistry
The 15 cities DLC will launch across globally in Phase 1 are: New York, London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore.
One can join DLC for a fee of USD 4000, which allows a member to be part of a forum. “Forums comprise of only 6 to 10 people, and don’t change for life,” Mistry said, adding, “Each member is matched with apt mentors. It’s like a young entrepreneur, professional or leader member having a personal board of directors. It will be like a good reflection medium — 9 experts to guide a member — sharing their experiences.
With more than 2000 Global Honorary Committee members already on board, the platform is set to launch 26 knowledge domains in 15 cities across the world in Phase I Members comprise entrepreneurs, professionals and young leaders who aim to contribute and give back to society
DLC will focus on knowledge exchange, lifestyle guidance and social responsibility while building a support ecosystem for leaders globally
Mistry revealed that so far, DLC, which is a global offering, and which only a couple of days back started taking requests to join a membership wait list, has already got 50-plus people globally who are interested in joining. It will start taking paid members from mid-July after the entire platform, content and tech are fully operational.
In response to a question, Mistry emphasized that the forums are “Not a networking platform, but people interacting, sharing knowledge… it is the intellectual coming together of likeminded people. Business benefits,” Mistry said, “will be a byproduct.”
The forums will meet once a month, for 3 to 4 hours, and will offer members the opportunity to benefit from shared experiences. “It is not mentoring,” Mistry clarified. “Mentoring will be a social impact cause, and leaders at DLC can mentor whoever they want. Mentoring is an option offered under social impact, and anything that comes under social impact will remain non-monetized.”
Mistry said, “While DLC will have many microsites for multiple service providers, there will be no advertising on the platform. We are going to make sure that we proceed with unflinching brand trust.”
Membership will be made available only to professionals and young leaders, and for entrepreneurs who have a turnover of INR 5cr-plus a year. “That gives him access to the finest minds in the world for 3 lakh rupees,” Mistry said. He added that in Year One, DLC will not take more than 500 members in any of the 15 cities it will launch in in Phase 1 across the world.
On manpower in its centres and for handling the offices, Mistry said, “Right now we have around 100 employees working in DLC. This will go up in the next 3 months, to 200-plus in India, and around 45 globally.”
Mistry clarified that DLC “is not an enmasse networking organization. We are a global community coming together. It is about brand trust, reputation, how much you can contribute to others, to society, and the world. We will want to ensure every member avails of all the facilities that are offered on a passion basis, and not a business basis.”
The platform was formally inaugurated in Lonavala on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in the virtual presence of Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister for Road Transport & Highways and for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, and Aaditya Thackeray, Cabinet Minister of Tourism and Environment for the Government of Maharashtra, along with business- and domain leaders from across the world.
Speaking at the launch, minister Gadkari said, “Knowledge is power and the conversion of knowledge into wealth is the future of this country. I congratulate my friend, Jimmy Mistry, who has launched the World’s 1st Business platform called Della Leaders Club (DLC) to help leaders in the post-pandemic world. The DLC platform will surely create a a new vision for the young leadership and entrepreneurship in the world.”
Aditya Thackeray lauded the new venture, saying, “My heartfelt congratulations to Jimmy Mistry on the setup of the Della Leaders Club. Kudos to your creativity! The World’s 1st Business Platform will connect organizations and bring the best of the world to our own country apart from social impact. Today with COVID, the biggest impact anyone can have is by way of job creation to sustain families and keep things going. I wish the DLC all the best.”
Being a first-generation entrepreneur, Jimmy strongly believes that modern leaders, especially in the post pandemic world, will benefit greatly from the knowledge and experiences from global leaders. His vision for DLC is to create an exclusive and secure global community of leaders that will help each other evolve from a life of success to a life of significance.
“After designing for some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, celebrities and socialites over the last 25 years, I observed that they were hungry to learn and stay ahead of the curve. We live in a volatile world and I realised that leaders, across industries, need a support system that will empower them. This platform goes beyond just networking and focuses on knowledge development along with community outreach” said Mr. Mistry, Founder and Chairman of Della Leaders Club.
