Meeting of Paras faction of LJP in Patna tomorrow

Patna, Jun 16 (UNI) Apparently apprehensive over the possibility of creating a disturbance and strong protest by Chirag supporters, the rival faction of LJP led by Pasupati Kumar Paras has decided to convene meeting at the residence of former party MP Surajbhan Singh here tomorrow, instead of LJP office as being expected earlier.
After a split, Paras faction of LJP has made former MP Surajbhan, the working president of the party replacing LJP president Chirag Paswan, son of late Ram Vilas Paswan, the founder president of the party.
Paras faction claimed that meeting to be held at the residence of Surajbhan tomorrow would be of the national executive. In a meeting of the Paras faction in New Delhi on Tuesday, a decision was taken to convene a national executive committee meeting in Patna.
Former party MP Surajbhan has convened the national executive meeting, in the capacity of working president.
In the national executive meeting of the Paras faction, new president of LJP would be elected.
All district presidents of LJP, district presidents of Dalit
Sena and party candidates who had contested last Bihar Assembly Elections in 2020 have been invited to the meeting.
LJP leader Raju Tiwary, a close confident of Chirag Paswan, however, made it clear that only nation executive had the power to elect a new president of the party.
As it is, five of six LJP MPs led by Pasupati Kumar Paras, uncle of Chirag Paswan had revolted in the party and submitted a memorandum to Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla on Sunday night, requesting him to recognise Mr Paras as leader of the LJP parliamentary party in lower House.
Paras faction had removed Mr Chirag Paswan from the post of party president while in a counter move Mr Paswan had also expelled all five rebel MPs for their anti-party activities.
