“Congress has mass base in Goa and it is now the responsibility of the frontal organisations to reach out to the people and spread the party ideology. All the frontal heads must ensure that Congress is strengthened in every constituency,” Dinesh Gundu Rao was quoted as having said during the meeting, in a press note issued by opposition leader Digambar Kamat.
MARGAO: Ahead of his visit to Goa, AICC Goa in-charge Dinesh Gundu Rao on Tuesday held a virtual meeting with all the four frontal organisations of Congress. He urged them to play a key role in strengthening the party.
Rao will be on a four-day visit to Goa beginning June 17.
“Congress has mass base in Goa and it is now the responsibility of the frontal organisations to reach out to the people and spread the party ideology. All the frontal heads must ensure that Congress is strengthened in every constituency,” Rao was quoted as having said during the meeting, in a press note issued by opposition leader Digambar Kamat.
Mahila Congress has been tasked with connecting with women and addressing issues concerning them like LPG cylinder price hike, atrocities on women, failure of BJP to give timely aid to widows, senior citizens, etc.
Rao instructed the Youth Congress to “continue their work of helping Covid patients with oxygen and other support, and “at the same time, keep a close watch on misdeeds of the BJP government and raise a voice against illegalities.”
He urged the NSUI team to take up issues of hardships faced by students, especially the failure of the government in coming out with a proper academic plan.
Rao advised the Seva Dal to ensure that every possible help is given to the needy.
Kamat said that Rao gave directions to all the four frontal organisation heads “to play a key role in ensuring that Congress wins people’s trust and confidence”. He also asked all frontal chiefs to undertake tour programmes in various constituencies, Kamat said.
