|

The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced that its digital services would be unavailable for a few hours on June 17 owing to maintenance work.

Between 12.30 and 2.30 a.m. on June 17, SBI's digital banking platforms, including Yono, Yono lite, internet banking, and the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), would be unavailable (Thursday).

"We request our esteemed customers to bear with us as we strive to provide a better banking experience," India's top lender tweeted.

On June 13, SBI's online banking services were also down for four hours. Bank services such as INB, YONO, YONO Lite, and UPI were also impacted for a few hours on May 21-23 due to maintenance works.

The largest private sector lender HDFC Business's mobile banking app went down for an hour on Tuesday due to unidentified issues, putting the bank under regulatory scrutiny for network failures.

The troubles were encountered for an hour late Tuesday morning, according to the city-based bank, and were fixed in an hour. Customers should use net banking to transact in the meanwhile, according to the company.
