PATNA: Police arrested three persons including a Hyderabad-based private security firm’s owner and busted a fake Indian currency notes (FICN) printing racket running at Manoharpur village under the Rajpur police station area of Buxar district after a raid conducted in the wee hours of Wednesday. Rajpur police station house officer-cum-DSP (probationer) MS Khan said that FICN worth face value of at least Rs 4 lakh was seized from their possession. The SHO said that arrested persons have been identified as Dharmendra Singh Yadav alias Dhanji (33), Subhash Singh (60) and one Ashok Singh (50). He said all three are natives of Manoharpur. “Dharmendra is the mastermind of the entire racket. He is an owner of a private security firm in Hyderabad. However, it was shut down due to the pandemic two months back after which he returned to Buxar and got involved in running the FICN racket,” he said adding, “Subhash and Ashok were assistants of Dharmendra.” SHO Khan said the raid was carried out on Dharmendra’s residence after the district intelligence unit of Buxar police received some input about the racket. “Raids are also going on at several locations on the basis of the information disclosed by the arrested persons. Exact count of seized FICN would become clear after sometime,” Khan said. “The interrogation of the arrested trio is still going on. It would soon become clear if they were circulating the FICN in the district or were supplying it outside too,” he said. Khan said that police are trying to arrest those who were helping the trio to supply the FICN after getting printed.
