Dhavalikar said that the scheme, started in 1984, was suspended two years ago due to lack of funds. “The government is now reviewing it as elections are near," the MLA said adding that this is the best example how the BJP government fools youth.
PONDA: Criticising the government’s announcement to launch an apprenticeships scheme, Marcaim MLA Ramkrishna ‘Sudin’ Dhavalikar on Tuesday termed it as an election stunt. "I don't know whether it's a joke or what. The scheme was there even when I was in the government. We used to take plumbers under the scheme," Dhavalikar, the former deputy chief minister in Sawant’s government said.
Dhavalikar said that the scheme, started in 1984, was suspended two years ago due to lack of funds. “The government is now reviewing it as elections are near," the MLA said adding that this is the best example how the BJP government fools youth.
He has also opposed the proposed Rs 100 crore bandhara over Khandepar River, calling it a waste of public money. He has now proposed a bandhara to provide water to Priol Constituency.
The work for the Ganjem water treatment plant has already been started and there a provision to supply 10 MLD of water to Volvoi, Vaghurme, Savoi Verem and Keri villages of the Priol constituency, and that is enough water for the next 25 years and thus, no hence, no need of a new bandhara, he said.
