Adam Peaty says it would be unfair to force Team GB athletes to quarantine at the Olympics if the same rules do not apply to other countries.
The United Kingdom was last week added on to Japan’s red travel list because of rising cases of the Delta variant, meaning British visitors must self-isolate in hotel rooms for six days when they arrive in Japan.
Olympic organisers insisted this week that those same restrictions apply to athletes, although the British Olympic Association are confident of an exemption when the regulations are updated on July 1.

Adam Peaty will defend his 100 metre breaststroke title at the Tokyo Olympics this summer
If there is no change, British stars will not be able to train outside of their hotel rooms for six days.
Swimmer Peaty, who will defend his 100 metre breaststroke title, said: ‘I wouldn’t want to race against people who haven’t had the same preparation or the same opportunity.’
