Puducherry records 355 fresh cases of Covid

PUDUCHERRY: With 355 new cases, the Union territory logged less than 400 fresh Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day on Tuesday.
The territory saw 629 patients recovering in the last 24 hours, bringing down active cases to 4,668.
The daily positivity rate dropped below 4% after more than two months. The positivity rate of the samples (9,017) testes on Tuesday stood at 3.9%. The positivity rate went as high as 26% in the last two months.
Of 4,668 patients, 741 are under home isolation and treatment. Puducherry headquarters reported the maximum fresh cases with 265 followed by Karaikal (77), Yanam (8) and Mahe (5). Puducherry headquarters has the maximum active cases with 3,622 followed by Karaikal (822), Yanam (116) and Mahe (108).
Healthcare authorities have so far tested 11.81 lakh swab samples, of which 10.15 lakh samples returned negative. They have so far administered jabs to 3.31 lakh people.
