Stocks turned mixed after the opening ball Wednesday, as investors awaited the outcome of a Federal Reserve meeting for clues on policy makers' take on inflation and the central bank's bond-buying program and outlook for interest rates. The Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -0.08% was down around 63 points, or 0.2%, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.03% traded on either side of unchanged.
