Application performance management specialist New Relic has promoted Ben Goodman to the role of senior vice president, sales and general manager for Asia Pacific and Japan.

"Organisations are looking to rapidly enhance their digital presence and offerings now more than ever – a move in many ways hastened by the pandemic with record numbers of users flocking online for services," said New Relic executive vice president of worldwide sales Steve Hurn.

"After excelling while overseeing much of Asia in a short span, Ben is now stepping up into a wider role in Asia Pacific to drive our growth by helping these organisations seize the power of their data with New Relic's leading observability platform in order to deliver great digital experiences for their customers."

Goodman joined New Relic last year as senior vice president for ASEAN, India, Greater Hong Kong and Korea.

He previously served as managing director and head of DX at Adobe Asia-Pacific, APJ vice president of unstructured data solutions at Dell EMC, director of APJ channels at Pure Storage, and in multiple roles culminating in that of Asia pacific director of sales strategy and transformation during a 12-year stint at EMC.

Goodman studied IT at Curtin University.

"The demand for observability services shows no signs of abating, and I'm thrilled to be stepping into this new role to help more organisations and government agencies ensure that their digital investments deliver value to all stakeholders," Goodman said.

"Today, New Relic's observability tools are behind some of the world's biggest and most highly regarded providers of ecommerce, food delivery, healthcare, broadband and telecommunications, sports and entertainment. I'm excited at the opportunities ahead for New Relic to enhance the digital experiences in even more industries throughout the region."
