I'm sure this has been posted but I've tried using the search tool on this forum for a week now and it always sends me to an error page. Basically my question is, are there any programs that are focused heavily on upper body building while still maintaining some compound lower body movements?
I've been working out for coming up on a year now and have ran the fierce 5 program both the 3 day full body and then switched over to the upper/lower 4 day split after 4 months and have been running that since. While I've made progress in everything(about 100 lbs gained on bench, squat, deads, etc.) I still have been unable to escape the knee pain that i've endured since day one.
Started adding band resistance movements to help rehab my knees but I haven't been able to escape the pain. While I know I could increase my squat weight I doubt the sharp pain in my left knee would allow me to progress further. I think it's due to my backyard gymnast stuff I did as a teen but that's just a random guess. Used to do "parkour" a lot and jump off houses and try to roll but I'm sure my knees took quite a bit of damage doing that over thousands of times. Either way I don't want to fully remove leg workouts but I'm wanting to do less dedicated workout days for legs and replace it with more upper body movements.
I still want to keep the 4 day week program bc I have an older partner working out with me in my home gym and it was hard enough getting him to agree to 4 days haha. I appreciate the suggestions. Looking forward to switchin up the program and keeping things fresh while still increasing our lifts. I hit 275 on bench on monday and am pretty hyped about it!
