The Willow Tree gift shop in Jasper held a double celebration during the weekend to mark the opening of its new location and its first year in business.
The locally-owned shop moved to 414 East Gibson St. in the shopping center anchored by Tractor Supply at the end of May.

One of Southeast Texas’ legacy breweries and Beaumont’s hottest barbecue places are teaming up for super Sunday event.
1701 BBQ will be taking a trip from its recently opened storefront on Calder Avenue in Beaumont to Port Neches for a June 27 pop-up event at Neches Brewing Co.
The event will feature live music, Neches’ selection of craft beers and some of the smoked goodness 1701 BBQ has become known for. The event starts at noon, but 1701 is known for selling out quickly at its Beaumont location.
The relatively new barbecue joint was created by James “Blue” Broussard and partners and incorporates original parts of the building at 1701 Calder Ave. constructed in the early 1940s as a service station.
Since opening in December, its fan base has been growing along with its smoker capacity, especially after being featured by publications like the Houston Chronicle.
Pour Brothers Brewery in Downtown Beaumont is still offering tickets for the release party of its newest beer that will benefit local law enforcement.
The brewery has teamed with Beaumont Police Officers Association to create Mugshot, a Kolsch-style beer that will help generate proceeds for the organization and its representation of active and retired Beaumont police officers.
To launch the new beer, Pour Brothers is hosting an all-day party on June 26 with local bands and food, which will also raise money for the BPOA.
Tickets can be purchased at the brewery at 585 Wall St., which is open Tuesdays through Sundays.
Pour Brothers previously created the 2 Alarm Pilsner, which generates proceeds for Beaumont Professional Firefighters Local 399.
