Mumbai, Jun 16 (UNI) The Bombay High Court on Wednesday set aside a multi-crore arbitration award passed in the Deccan Chronicle Holdings Ltd versus Board of Control for Cricket in India case.
In July of 2020, a sole arbitrator was appointed by the Court to ascertain whether Deccan Chargers Hyderabad, the DCHL franchise team, was illegally terminated from the 5th IPL season in 2012.
Subsequently, the arbitrator directed the BCCI to pay Rs 4,800 crore to the DCHL. However, Justice Gautam Patel on Wednesday quashed the award.
