Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Unlock seems to have unleashed chain snatchers as two back to back incidents were reported in the state capital on Tuesday.

The two chain snatching incidents were reported in Koh-e-Fiza locality within 30 minutes. The police believe that same accused was behind both crimes.

The snatcher first targeted a 70-year-old woman and later snatched away a gold chain from a 21-year-old woman.

According to information, Madhu Jain, 70, a resident of Janaki Nagar went out for a morning walk. She reached near Sarvottam Hospital at 5.47 am when two bike-borne youths came from behind and snatched her gold chain. The CCTV footage shows that the accused followed the victim from her house.

About 30 minute later, similar incident took place in Indra Vihar Colony. The victim identified as Priyanka was on way to purchase milk. The accused attacked her from behind when she was crossing Mayo College and ran away after snatching gold chain.

The two victims later approached Koh-e-Fiza police station and lodged a complaint.

Following the incident, deputy inspector general of police (DIG), Irshad Wali announced reward of Rs 20,000 on information leading to arrest of accused. He said police teams have fanned out in city to arrest the accused.
