Independent MLA Ramila Khadiya was booked on Monday for allegedly slapping a head constable while he was on duty in Rajasthan's Banswara.
According to reports, the incident took place on Sunday night when Head Constable Mahendra Nath was on night duty. The Head Constable said he stopped a man on a bike and inquired about his movement.
The man misbehaved with him and called the Kushalgarh MLA on the spot. After reaching there, the MLA got into a verbal argument with the head constable and allegedly slapped him.
"At a Naka, police stopped a youth who was in an inebriated condition. He abused me, grabbed me by my collar, and called up the MLA. She reached the spot and started abusing me. While we were talking, the MLA slapped me," Head Constable Mahendra Nath told news agency ANI.
Denying the allegations, Independent MLA Ramila Khadiya said that the Head Constable harasses people and demands money in the name of enforcing restrictions. "The allegations are totally false. He harasses people and demands money in the name of enforcing restrictions," Ramila Khadiya told ANI.
Meanwhile, Additional SP Kailash Singh said that the MLA and a few others have been booked in connection with the case.
