Mumbai reported 575 new COVID-19 cases on June 15, Tuesday, taking the total tally to 7,17,683. Now, there are 15,390 active cases in the city.
City recorded 14 deaths due to coronavirus on Tuesday which pushed its fatality count to 15,216 as per data released by the city's civic body. 718 COVID-19 patients recovered and were discharged on Monday, taking the recovery count to 6,84,825.
On Tuesday, 23,681 tests were conducted. May 17 had reported the lowest count rate with just 17,640 tests. Till date, 66,64,322 tests have been conducted in the city.
Meanwhile, the doubling rate has increased to 702 days, while the weekly growth rate has declined to 0.09 percent.
There are total 19 containment zones in the city and 86 buildings have been sealed as per today's data. Recovery rate of Mumbai district is at 95 percent.
Mumbai's Dharavi for the second consecutive day reported zero COVID-19 cases. After not reporting a single COVID-19 case on Monday, for the first time since February 2, Asia's largest slum has not reported a single COVID-19 case again on Tuesday.
Dharavi which has a population of about 10 lakh densely packed into an area of 2.1 square kilometers had reported its first COVID-19 case on April 1 last year. On April 8 this year, it recorded its highest-ever single-day spike of 99 cases during the second wave of the virus outbreak.
