Norwegian govt proposes up to NOK 400,000 in subsidies for basic broadband in remote places

Norway's Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation is running a consultation until 26 July on a proposed procurement scheme to ensure functional internet access even in very sparsely populated places. The definition of functional internet access is the ability to obtain a line with a minimum download speed of 20 Mbps and a minimum upload speed of 5 Mbps. The ministry is proposing subsidies of up to NOK 400,000 with applicants contributing NOK 5,000.
