
UEFA Euro 2020, France vs Germany Football Match Highlights: Mats Hummels scored an owngoal and France beat Germany 1-0 on Tuesday at the European Championship. The experienced defender was attempting to stop Lucas Hernandezs cross from reaching France forward Kylian Mbappe when he diverted the ball into his own net in the 20th minute.
Both teams had chances to score Ilkay Gundogan wasted Germanys best opportunity of the first half when he couldnt direct his shot on target. France twice put the ball in the net in the second half but both were called back for offside. Mbappe sent a curling shot inside the far post midway through the half and then set up Karim Benzema for another late in the match.

World champions France begin tournament on a winning note.France had two goals ruled offside and Adrien Rabiot hit the upright, so ultimately an unfortunate Mats Hummels own goal proved decisive to beat Germany 1-0 in Munich. Pogba and Kante bossed the midfield. A great start for tournament favourites.
Germany have a free-kick from a handball by Rabiot. Sane goes straight for goal from outside the box but can't keep his effort down. Ousmane Dembele comes in for Addrien Rabiot.
Emre Can and Kevin Volland come in for Matthias Ginter, Robin Gosens respectively for Germany.
Benzema almost marked his return to International football with a goal but it's ruled out for offside. Mbappe races onto Pogba's throughball and squares the ball for Benzema who slots it into the net. VAR gets involved and rules the goal out. Correntin Tolisso comes in for Benzema.
Kempembe cuts out Kroos' pass. Mbappe shows terrific pace to edge in front and goes down in the box. The referee waves play on.
Timo Werner and Leroy Sane come in place of Kai Havertz, Serge Gnabry respectively. There’s a break in play because of what looks like a muscle injury to Ginter.
Pogba sends a fantastic shot to Mbappe, who shows fantastic feet to curl the ball into the far bottom corner. A beautiful finish but alas offside.
Germany have picked up the momentum in this half. Varane sends Kimmich's cross out for a corner. Gosens nearly sends the ball across the box to Kimmich but Lloris grabs it instead.
Kimmich sends a looping cross from the byline towards Gosens at the back post. Gosens rises high before falling along with Pavard. Kroos’s long-range shot hits the fallen Gosens in the six-yard box.
Gosens sends in a fantastic cross to find Gnabry at the far post but he hits it into the ground, bounces back just over the crossbar. That was the closes Germany came to scoring a goal.
Rabiot latches onto Mbappe's pass into the box and lashes a shot but it hits the post. Greizmann looking unhappy, he was at the right place for a tap-in but didn't receive a pass from Rabiot.
Mbappe showpiece on display. Mbappe beats Hummels to wiggle into the box but Hummels catches up to force the winger aside.
France get the second half underway. No changes for either sides during half-time.
Is that a nibble, a bite? Just before Pogba attracted the linesman's offside flag. Pogba waggles his finger at the linesman as things get heated up.

Hernandez blocks off Kimmichs run inside and Kimmich slips and catches the full-back in the side of the face. The referee doesn't take out the red card though.
Mbappe escapes down the left. Benzema was waiting for the cut back in the centre but Ginter recovers well to give France a corner. Germany clear the corner comfortably.
Germany almost equalise immediately after Hummels' own goal. Mueller nods wide from Gosens' high cross into the box but the danger is averted for France for now.
Hernandez crosses and Mats Hummels puts the ball into his own net to give France lead in first half. Pogba picks out Hernandez in space down the left and the left-back crosses in from the byline. Hummels' defensive positioning gives away the goal to France.
