The Oshiwara police booked a man for allegedly raping a 33-year-old model on a modeling assignment in Dubai last year after sedating her drinks. The accused identified as Sallauddin Khan, 35 recorded the act and raped her by threatening to circulate the video, she alleged. The police are yet to make an arrest in the case.
According to the police, in July last year Khan had called the victim to Dubai for a modeling assignment of a jewellery brand. There the accused mixed sedatives in her drink and raped her and recorded the act, alleged the model in her statement to the police. She also alleged that the accused raped her in her flat by threatening to circulate the video.
The accused had also promised her a residential visa and a flat, and allegedly took ₹ 70 lakh from her. However till date he hasn't given her anything neither returning her money alleged model in her statement.
The accused had been also forcing her for marriage and also assaulted her as well, she alleged in her complaint. When she was in Dubai the Khan was also trying to stop her from returning to India, she stated in her statement.
Fed up with repeated abuse she finally decided to take the matter to police and gave a written application to police last week.
Based on her statement, we have registered an offence under relevant sections of rape, molestation, extortion, trespassing, cheating, criminal intimidation along with the relevant sections of Information Technology act, said an officer from Oshiwara police station.
