It is about to be a year since Amazon announced its cloud-based game streaming service called Luna. It is following an invite-based approach where once access the service and games only if they have an invite. But for a limited time, Amazon has decided to get rid of the approach and make Luna available to every Prime member.

Luna will go invite-free for every Prime member during the Prime Day 2021 sale period. It means on June 21 and June 22, anyone will be able to access the gaming service with no need for an invite. All of these users will get free access to Luna+ for seven days from the day of the registration. It is essentially a free trial where users will be able to play all of the games available in the catalog.

Once the free trial is over, users will have an option to continue using Luna for a fee of $5.99 per month. This is a discounted price that will last for as long as Amazon wishes to offer. However, all subscribers will receive an email 30 days ahead of the price bump as and when that may happen. There is also a channel called Ubisoft+ (beta) priced at $14.99 per month that offers access to games released by Ubisoft. It should be noted that channel pricing is in addition to the Luna subscription.

For the uninitiated, Luna is a game streaming service that lets users play video games from almost any device including smartphones, tablets, and laptops. Some of the popular titles include Control, Grid, Metro Exodus, Team Sonic Racing, Sonic Mania, and Star Wars Pinball. This is similar to what Google Stadia is and just like that, there is also a Luna controller that will help users play games more efficiently but it is not a mandatory purchase. If you already have a controller like Sony PlayStation or Microsoft Xbox, you can use that as well.
