Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal was detained by the police on Tuesday afternoon amid a protest against the Punjab government. SAD leaders and workers are holding a protest against the Captain Amarinder Singh-led Congress government outside the Chief Minister's residence in Siswan.
The dharna which began at around 11 am was also attended by leaders from the newly allied Bahujan Samaj Party. According to earlier reports, the party's state president Jasbir Singh Garhi was slated to attend.
