Anticipation gave way to disappointment as Scotland fans watched the men's football team's first appearance at a major tournament in 23 years.

Thousands of supporters gathered at Hampden Park and at a special fan zone in Glasgow, while many more cheered the team on at home, in school or in the pub.

But the match ended with a 2-0 defeat to the Czech Republic at Hampden.
