Ludhiana: Three residents of Ludhiana died of Covid-19 and 112 tested positive on Sunday. As per the health department bulletin, six deaths were reported here on the day. Of these, three patients were of Ludhiana and one each of Barnala, Hoshiarpur and Delhi. The district casualties included a 64-year-old woman of Shamgarh village, a 79-year-old man of Saya Kalan, and a 62-year-old woman of Sudhar village. Civil surgeon Dr Kiran Ahluwalia said the district’ toll has mounted to 2,063 and that of outsiders to 1,020. To date, 15,36,493 persons have been tested. As many as 16 patients from outside Ludhiana too tested positive here on Sunday. The local health department officials said the district’s case count is 86,265 and that of outsiders is 11,336. So far, 82,787 patients have recovered, which constitutes 95.97% of the total cases. There are 1,415 active cases. On the day, 11,541 samples were collected. Twenty-six patients are on ventilators. Of them, 11 are of Ludhiana.
