Broadband access equipment market jumps 18% to USD 3.3 billion in Q1 - Dell'Oro

The global broadband access equipment market generated USD 3.3 billion worth of revenues in the first quarter, up 18 percent from the year before, according to the latest study from Dell'Oro Group, which said growth came from spending on PON OLT ports, particularly 10 Gbps PON technologies. "The shift to 10 Gbps PON technologies is happening quickly and on a global basis," the study noted, adding that the only thing preventing further expansions are supply chain constraints and increased costs. On a sequential base, total broadband access equipment revenue slipped 6 percent from the record
