Noida: Noida police on Saturday arrested 14 people, including five women, from a
pool party at a farmhouse in Sector 135. Police said that they were violating Covid protocols.
Yatendra Kumar Yadav, SHO of Expressway police station, said that we got information of a pool party in Sector 135 . “We also got a complaint on our helpline number saying that the group was playing loud music. A team went to the spot and found that the group was celebrating someone’s birthday and some 13 people had come from Delhi. However, according to Covid guidelines, swimming pools are yet to open. They were violating the regulations and were also breaking night curfew rules,” he said.
Police said that the caretaker of the house was also arrested but the owner and another caretaker managed to flee. “We are trying to trace them, and action will also be taken against them,” the SHO said.
The 14 people have been booked under Sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) and 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the IPC.
