KTU BTech exams to start on June 28
Image used for representational purpose onlyTHIRUVANANTHAPURAM: APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU)'s decision to conduct BTech final semester examinations at the college level was approved by the varsity's Syndicate and the board of governors.
The colleges have been instructed to conduct theory examinations from June 28 to July 12 on dates feasible to them. Colleges must notify the exam time table at least seven days prior to conducting the examinations. An order released by the university has said that colleges should upload the marks given to students on the basis of examinations, including BTech project work, before July 19. The seventh and eighth semesters' honours examination will also be conducted online.
The examinations will be conducted for 70 marks and the duration will be two-and-a-half hours. The marks obtained at the college-level examination sin each subject will be normalized in proportion to the cumulative grades point average (CGPA) of the students in the previous semesters. If the grades obtained in the online examinations are not satisfactory, students will be allowed to cancel the grades thus obtained and write the next offline examination in the same subject. The offline exam will be considered as the first chance of the students. Students who are unable to appear for the exams due to health issues related to Covid-19 will be allowed to appear for the exams on or before July 31. Only those students who submit relevant documents and details to the university on or before July 15 through the respective heads of institutions will be permitted to avail this opportunity.
