Pratapgarh-based television journalist Sulabh Srivastava, 42, who worked for the ABP news channel's UP arm, ABP Ganga, was found dead on Sunday night, a day after he had written a letter to the additional director general (ADG) of Prayagraj saying he feared threat to life owing to a story he had done on the local liquor mafia on June 9 and requested that security be provided to him.

The police dubbed the scribe’s death an “accident”, even as the opposition demanded an inquiry into the incident, before the ADG Prem Prakash said a first information report has been registered against unknown persons for murder and criminal intimidation based on the family's statement.
