None can stop me from steering AIADMK: Sasikala

ree to CHENNAI: Hours after the AIADMK expelled 15 functionaries from the primary membership of the party for having spoken with her, V K Sasikala, the close-confidante of late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, asserted that none could stop her from steering the party and establish the AIADMK rule.

In a telephone call to an AIADMK functionary in Madurai, Sasikala said she would not allow the party to fall into ruins and she had experienced such developments, along with Jayalalithaa, after the demise of MGR.
“We have seen much in the past. This is nothing new. There was a similar situation after the passing away of MGR in 1987. We overcame and established rule and Amma became the chief minister, steering both the government and the party. It will repeat,” Sasikala said, proudly claiming that she had the support of the cadre.
Exhorting the cadres not to bother about the developments and that she would meet them, Sasikala said, “In 1989, the cadre stood with Amma. Don’t worry. Let us demonstrate with the cadre. I am with you all.”
She said that she would act as per the wishes of the cadre.
