Those who want to enjoy power can't stay in BJP: Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh

Kolkata: At a time when exodus from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the ruling Trinamool Congress fold remained unabated, especially the turncoat leaders who had defected ahead of the recently concluded Assembly polls, West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh on Sunday took to social media and said that those who want to enjoy the power cannot continue with the BJP, adding that the BJP itself will release them from the party.

“Defection has now become a habit for many for many leaders and those who toil and work for the party can only stay in the party and those who want to only enjoy power, will be removed from the party”, Ghosh shared on Twitter

Notably, post poll debacle, several BJP cadres had joined back the TMC and with BJP national vice-president Mukul Roy rejoining the ruling Trinamool Congress had set a trend of defection.

Turncoat leaders like Rajib Banerjee, Sonali Guha, Sarala Murmu, Dipen Biswas had many times shown their interest in shifting camps post poll debacle. On Sunday West Bengal BJPs SC/ST wing president Dulal Bar who is considered to be a close aide of Mukul Roy had also shown his affiliation towards the ruling party.

“In BJP, correct people are not given the correct post and even Mukul Roy wasn’t utilized properly. Staying in BJP after a point becomes impossible,” mentioned Bar.

Incidentally, a day after leaving the saffron camp, Mukul Roy called 10 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders including nine BJP MLAs and one MP.

According to BJP sources, Mukul had called North Bengal MP (Nisith Pramanick) and nine MLAs namely Sikha Chatterjee, Mihir Goswami, Sudip Mukerjee, Narhari Mahata, Biswanath Karak, Partha Chattopadhyay, Biswajit Das and Satyen Roy.

Meanwhile, BJP North Bengal MLA Mihir Goswami has cleared that he will not defect back to the TMC.

However, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari stated that he will implement ‘anti-defection law’ in West Bengal in the next two three months so that any leader willing to defect has to go under some specific protocols.
