
Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Under the drive against smuggling of intoxicants in the district, the Kukdeshwar police arrested 2 smugglers from Rajasthan for smuggling poppy husk into the district on Saturday. They brought it in a luxury car on Saturday.
Acting on a tip off, police barricaded Semli Antri Road in Dethal. A white Hyundai Venue car without a number plate was stopped. After searching, the police recovered 3 black plastic bags full of poppy husk that weighed 65 kilograms.
The two smugglers in the car, Gopal, 35, resident of Jamlawada, Pratapgarh district Rajasthan and Shyamlal, 40, resident of Malawada, Chhoti Sadrhi, Pratapgarh district, Rajasthan, were arrested. A case was registered against both under NDPS Act.
Kukdeshwar police station incharge Sandeep Tomar, Sub inspector Dilip Kumar, head constable Rudra Pratap Singh, constable Ankit Joshi and others were parts of arrest team.
