Hyderabad: The government in Telangana will provide 7 509 million as investment support to more than 63 lakh farmers for the cultivation during the Kharif season according to the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
Agriculture Minister S. Niranjan Reddy said on Sunday that from 15 to 25 June, the government had made all arrangements to credit the amount at R5 000 per acre on the farmers’ bank accounts.
This year, farmers who received Ryghu Bandhu assistance, who received passbooks for possession (pattadar) and registered their information through CCLA on the Dharani portal may be eligible.
The Minister said CCLA had submitted a list of 63,25,695 beneficiaries to the Department of Agriculture.
The departments estimate that an amount of Rs 7,508.78 million is needed for assistance under the cultivation scheme on 150.18 lacquer hectares across the state.
An additional 66,311 acres were brought under Rythu Bandhu this year. This will benefit 2.81 lakh farmers.
Beneficiaries must first submit their pattadar passbooks, aadhaar cards and bank details to the relevant agricultural extension officers to avail the benefit.
The Minister explained that the amount will also be poured into accounts for which IFSC codes may have changed due to the merger of some banks.
He said the farmers did not have to worry about this.
Among the 34 districts, the Nalgonda district has the most beneficiaries (4,72,983). They own 12.18 lakh acres of land and the district needs 608.81 million.
The district of Medchal Malkajgiri has the least number of beneficiaries (39,762). They own 77,000 hectares of land and will provide 38.39 million aid according to the scheme.
The state government made an allocation of Rs 14,800 crore for Rythu Bandhu in the 2021-22 budget. Under the scheme, 10,000 million investment support is provided annually for each acre.
The government credits the amount in two installments for two crops.
It was in 2018 that the government launched the scheme with the announcement of Rs 8,000 investment support per acre per crop. In 2019, the amount was increased to 10,000 Rs.
