Ballymore, the property development firm owned by Sean Mulryan, has applied to extend permission to develop a site in Naas, Co Kildare, including 385 units.
he planning application to Kildare County Council shows that Ballymore is seeking to extend the permission granted in 2017 by five years as the current permission runs out in 2022.
Ballymore bought the site, close to Tipper Road, from the developers Gerry Prendergast, Paddy Sweeney and Thomas Considine under the instruction of statutory receiver George Maloney of RSM Ireland.
An Irish Times report in January 2020 said the 49-acre site, which is close to Naas Racecourse, was guiding on the market for €12m. Ballymore would not confirm how much it paid.
Patrick Phelan, managing director in Ireland for Ballymore, said the company hoped to start construction soon.
